DESCRIPTION
It is a picturesque church, located at the entrance of Catalunya. It is dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of the Navy and celebrates every year on December 6th. The church is built at the foot of Mount Katakolo and is characterized by the greenery of nature and the blue of the sea. As if it is “covered” by the towering trees, the main part of the church renders a historic picture. The church is now renovated but it preserves its historical style and certainly anyone who visits it feels faith and awe to overwhelm it. From time to time there are various social events, weddings – christenings, mainly due to the beauty that gives the whole landscape. The priest of the church is Father Panagiotis Athanasopoulos, who is always there. In addition to the celebration of St. Nicholas on December 6, the Holy Temple celebrates festively on the Epiphany Day, where the Holy Cross for the sanctification of the waters is also taking place at the Port of Katakolo.
