National Resistance Museum – Nikos Beloyiannis

The historic building, which housed the children’s dreams of the fighter Nikos Beloyiannis, was now transformed into a Museum of National Resistance and Games of Mori with the name “Nikos Beloyiannis Museum” and was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Greece in 2017, Alexis Tsipras. Nikos Beloyiannis was born on 22 December 1915 and was executed on 30 March 1952. He was the leader of the KKE, in which he joined his 19th. He was hunted by the Mexican dictatorship and took part in the National Resistance from the classes of ELAS Peloponnesus. He was an important CEO, as he was a political commissioner for a division. The trial that has remained in history as a “Beloyianni case” and its execution have been widely publicized and have caused international reactions. The Belogianni House was donated to the Municipality of Ilida by his son, and later on he was declared a historic listed monument by the Ministry of Culture. The Hellenic Parliament decided to assist in the organization of the Permanent Exhibition at the Beloyianni residence, including the research, collection, organization, maintenance and placement of historical material concerning the life and activity of Nikos Beloyiannis from a number of archives, libraries and collections . Households also donated various items to the House for the exhibition.
