Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People

It was founded in 1997 by the director Dimitris Spyros and is held every year in the first week of December in Pyrgos, the capital of the prefecture of Ilia in the region of Western Greece. His competition program includes fiction, animation and documentary films, short and feature films, films aimed at children and young people, are recent productions and can come from any country in the world.

It is the only one of its kind in Greece and is one of the top festivals for children and young people in Europe and internationally, where it has acquired a great deal of radiation and recognition. She is a member of international organizations and actors in cinema and film education and represents Greece in all major international forums related to youth film and audio visual education.
The Festival has beene stablished in Pyrgos, Ancient Olympia and the wider region, a place of meeting and creative cooperation among young people, educators, film makers and institutions and institutions from Greece, Europe and the rest of the world, active in the fields of children’s cinema and cinema education.
