DESCRIPTION
The exhibition of the Museum of Ancient Greek Technology revives 300 extraordinary inventions of the ancient Greek technological miracle covering the period from 2000 BC. until the end of the ancient Greek world after 25 years of research and study by Kostas Kotsanas. All exhibits and their supporting material have been created by him without any subsidy from any public or private body. The museum is located on the eastern side of the central square of Katakolo, across from the railway station and operates under the auspices of the Municipality of Pyrgos. Its purpose is to highlight this relatively unknown aspect of ancient Greek civilization and to prove that the technology of ancient Greeks just before the end of the ancient Greek world was very similar to the beginning of our modern technology. The entrance is free for everyone while students benefit from various free of chargeeducational programs as well as, detailed tour and demonstration of the operation of the exhibits by their own creator in the framework of volunteering. Through the exhibition, visitors are able to experience the incredible technological performance of ancient Greeks and find that the ancient Greeks had discovered high-tech technology that had little to be jealous of early modern technology.
