DESCRIPTION
Another one – this time big beach – we meet in the local community of Katakolo, which extends over a distance of hundreds of kilometers and connects with the other coasts of western Ilia, which constitute the coastal part of the open Kyparissia Gulf, 68 km long. This beach is located in the bay of Katakolos and is about 5 km from Pyrgos, while its length is 14,300 m. Both the coastal zone and the seabed are sandy and sea lilies and low vegetation are observed on the coast. Segments of the beach are organized and have facilities for bathers such as umbrellas, sun loungers, showers, locker rooms, baskets and litter bins. On the beach there are restaurants and refreshments with table-chairs. The coast is mainly used for swimming and the activities being developed are water sports (mainly canoeing). Additionally, pleasure boats are moored at sea.
