DESCRIPTION
Georgios Sissinis was born in 1765 (in others, in 1769) in Gastouni and was descended from a wealthy and historic family, with roots probably Venetian or Byzantine. During the last years of the Ottoman domination, he was the Protestant of Gastun. In the profession he was a medical practitioner. However, he was distinguished as a politician and even more as a military in the Struggle for Independence. In Gastouni, the road that bears the name of Sisin is the most central of the city. George Sissini Street is essentially the part of the Old National. A road that passes through the city from its southern entrance to the exit to Kavasila. On the road to Georgios Sissini, in Gastouni is also the famous Sissini House, which housed the Sisini family from the pre-revolutionary period until the 20th century, while in the Interwar period there was a Hall of the Hellenes. Today it houses the services of the Municipality of Pinios. Opposite the house of Sisini, on the square of Agios Nikolaos, there is the bust of George Sissini.
